With the fast development of science and technology, online courses have been increasingly popular. And as online courses are becoming diversified, some people start to get worried that the day which online course replaces traditional course will come.
As far as I am concerned, online courses cannot replace traditional ones for that the latter has some advantages cannot replaced by the former.
For one thing, the biggest advantage of traditional course is that it provides a chance for every student to communicate with teachers face to face, while online course cannot achieve this effect. Attending to a traditional course is not only a process of receiving knowledge, but also an opportunity for students to exchange their minds with their teachers, communicate with their peers and learn to think on their own.
For another, traditional courses have more applicability than online ones since the students attending traditional courses have similar understanding or the same amount of knowledge towards a subject, while online courses are difficult to respond the different needs from people with different aims and levels.
Therefore, traditional courses will not be replaced by online ones. But in addition, I advocate that colleges provide some online courses for students to study by themselves besides traditional ones.
Will Network Classrooms Replace Traditional Classrooms?
With the popularization of the Internet, network classrooms are
gaining more and more popularity. As a new teaching pattern, network
classrooms have become an effective complement to traditional classrooms. So some people propose one question: will network classrooms replace traditional classrooms?
As to this question, the opinions vary from one to another. Some people
think it quite possible for network classrooms to take the place of
traditional classrooms. First, network classrooms needn’t have face-to-face communication and are not limited by time and place, which facilitate both teachers and students. Secondly, network classrooms release teachers from repeating the same contents since the video or audio material can be played time and again. However, many people have opposite standpoints. They say that with online courses, students lack direct communications with
teachers and their confusion cannot be solved instantly. In addition, the computer system cannot be guaranteed to work stably all the time。
Personally, both network
classrooms and traditional classrooms are necessary for students. If
traditional teaching patterns and the
modern ones like network classrooms can be combined together, more fruitful education is sure to be realized。
My View on Online Education
Nowadays, online education has become very popular among people. Those who want to learn something, whether they are young or old, all can have their classes on different subjects. Some can even get a certificate or diploma after completing the required courses. Therefore, the number of people receiving this kind of education is on the rise. Why is it so popular?
The reasons are as follows. For one thing, the quick development of the Internet has provided many people a chance to attend class given by famous schools and teachers. For another, compared with having classes at school, online education saves our time, energy and money, especially to those who are too busy to study full time. The most important reason is that the schedule is flexible
so that we can have a free choice to study what we need badly and decide when, where and how to study. As far as I'm concerned, I appreciate this new form of education and also have got some benefits from it. It's indeed a helpful complement to the traditional education means.
